The same lens as our A4 Fresnel Lens, but framed in black plastic with a handle on one side for use as a large magnifying glass.
A Fresnel Lens is a type compact lens originally developed for use in lighthouses. Astromedia Lenses are spherical, designed to offer a magnification of 3x, with ring shaped segments that focuses light towards the centre of the lens.
Towards the edges, there will be a distortion of the image caused by diffraction around the perimeter. All our lenses will produce a sharp image in the centre, albeit not as clear as their spherical glass counterparts.
Caution: Can also be used as a burning-glass!
