Kit for building a classical armillary sphere, the standard instrument for observer-centred astronomy for over 2000 years.

With this beautiful Desktop Planetarium you can easily visualise the movement of Sun, Moon, planets, and fixed stars above and below the horizon for any location on Earth and any day of the year. A real gem, not only as an astronomical instrument and teaching tool, but also as a fantastic showpiece.

The meridian can be adjusted for all latitudes between the north and south pole. The ecliptic shows the position of the Sun for each day of the year with date, angle, and the signs of the zodiac. The hour ring shows true local time, and lengths of day, night, and twilight. Along the adjustable lunar orbit you can see the moving nodes and the zones where solar and lunar eclipses can occur. The planets can be moved into any position on the ecliptic.

Curious Minds did you know: Planetariums come in many different sizes such as this construction kit. Other Planetariums can be huge like the Hayden Planetarium in New York City which is 21 metres long and can hold 423 people!
